Peking, 10. dubna 2008 – Intel Capital, investiční organizace společnosti Intel, ohlásila vznik druhého investičního fondu v Číně Intel Capital China Technology Fund II. Nový, pětisetmilionový fond bude využíván pro investice do bezdrátového širokopásmového internetu, vývoje technologií, médií, telekomunikací a techniky. Ty mají společnosti Intel pomoci doplňovat firemní aktivity a rozšiřovat technologický trh v Číně.
Prostředky prvního fondu organizace Intel Capital China Technology Fund, s kapitálem 200 milionů dolarů, byly plně investovány do místních čínských společností. V souvislosti s ohlášením vzniku fondu Intel Capital China Technology Fund II, jež spadá na 40. výročí vzniku společnosti Intel, oznámil Intel Capital také dvě nové, do fondu spadající investice:
- Holdfast Online Technology Co. Ltd. poskytuje platformu pro hostování videoher, ať už přes LAN nebo prostřednictvím herních konzolí, aby se mohli hráči střetávat prostřednictvím WAN (Wide Area Network).
- Newauto Video Technology Inc. nabízí a prodává televizním stanicím v Číně videovybavení, síťová řešení a služby systémové integrace. Newauto také poskytuje editaci digitálního obsahu a služby sportovním, živě vysílaným programům. Newauto je poskytovatelem služeb pro nadcházející letní Olympijské hry 2008 v Pekingu.

The Intel Capital China Technology Fund, established in 2005, was intended to help Chinese businesses nurture important technologies and develop innovative products. Examples of investments include: Neusoft Group, Supcon Group, A8 Music, Chinacache International, Chipsbank Microelectronics, DAC, HiSoft Technology International, Kingsoft, Legend Silicon, Montage Technology, and Palm Commerce. Notable liquidity events involving portfolio companies from the first fund include: Actions Semiconductor, Kingsoft and Neusoft Group.
The Intel Capital China Technology Fund and Fund II are part of Intel's overall presence and investment in the Chinese market.
