VMware přináší se svými partnery firmám hybridní cloud: VMware vCloud Datacenter

Praha, 10. února 2011 – Společnost VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), globální lídr v oblasti virtualizačních řešení a cloudové infrastruktury, oznámila dosažení milníku v dodání firemního hybridního cloudu. Tím je dostupnost služeb VMware vCloud® Datacenter společnostmi BlueLock, Colt a beta verze od společnosti Verizon. VMware také představil VMware vCloud Connector, zdarma dodávaný plug-in, který všem správcům VMware vSphere® umožní okamžitě začít s nasazením a správou virtuálních strojů napříč cloudovými službami VMware vCloud přímo v rámci VMware vSphere Client^TM.

Nová studie IDG¹, kterou sponzoroval VMware, ukazuje, že dvě třetiny firem již cloud computing přijaly nebo se ho přijmout chystají. K tomuto kroku je nejvíce vede potřeba lepší pružnosti podnikání. Studie také poukazuje na fakt, že pro firmy jsou při přechodu ke cloudu značně limitující obavy o bezpečnost a kontrolu. Téměř 90 procent z více než 600 dotázaných IT odborníků se vyjádřilo ve smyslu, že by dali přednost cloudu, případně ho rozšířili, pokud by si byli jisti, že bezpečnost je zajištěna na stejné nebo vyšší úrovni jako v rámci jejich vlastních datových center. VMware vCloud Datacenter bere v úvahu jak tento poznatek, tak i ostatní požadavky firem přecházejících ke cloudu. Mezi nejčastěji zmiňované požadavky patří vysoký výkon (spolehlivost a dostupnost), kvalita služeb a přenositelnost aplikací.

Společnost VMware rovněž představila VMware vCloud Connector, který dává administrátorům VMware vSphere jednotný nástroj pro správu hybridního cloudu napříč infrastrukturou vSphere a privátních a veřejných cloudů VMware vCloud. Uživatelé jednoduše projdou ověřením a mohou začít prohlížet a přenášet virtuální stroje, aplikace a šablony mezi touto trojicí navzájem.

vCloud Datacenter Services Availability

VMware vCloud Datacenter Services are available now through US-based BlueLock (www.bluelock­.com), pan-European service provider Colt (www.colt.net/vmwa­re-vcloud), and via beta from global service provider Verizon (www.verizonbu­siness.com/Pro­ducts/it/cloud-it/ ). VMware vCloud Datacenter partners Terremark (www.terremar­k.com/services/clou­dcomputing.as­px) and SingTel (http://busines­s.singtel.com) offer cloud services based on VMware technology today and are developing vCloud Datacenter services as well.
